HALL COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS/ROADS DEPARTMENT NOTICE: FENCES IN ROAD RIGHT OF WAY AS PER NEBRASKA LAW NO. 39-301 AND COUNTY BOARD OF HALL COUNTY RESOLUTION 1345: The placement of fences and other obstructions on public roads and road right of way is a criminal offense and will be removed from county right of way at the cost of the owner. HALL COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS/ROADS DEPARTMENT NOTICE: MOWING & TREE TRIMMING AS PER NEBRASKA LAW NO. 39-1811: WEED MOWING Section 39-1811 of the Nebraska Revised Statutes for 1943, issue of 1974, requires that all landowners mow all weeds that can be mowed with the ordinary farm mower to the middle of all public roads and drainage ditches running along their lands, at least twice a year, namely, before July 15, for the first time an during the month of August the second time, since many of the roads are not mowed at this time the county board requests that the roadsides be mowed immediately. The law further provides that in the event the landowner fails to mow said weeds, the county board, upon complaint of an resident may cause the weeds to be mowed and assess the cost for the mowing of such weeds against the land abutting each side of the road where the weeds were mowed by the county and that such costs may be collected in the same manner as real estate taxes. AS PER NEBRASKA LAW NO. 39-1812: HEDGES AND TREE TRIMMING Each landowner in this state upon whose lands there are standing or growing trees undergrowth which border the public roads shall keep the same trimmed not let than once a year and the trimmings so cut shall be burned or removed from the road right-of-way within ten days.
